Some libraries unavailable in Prospector due to system transitions

October 28, 2016

Denver Public Library materials will be unavailable in Prospector starting October 28, 2016 while they undergo some system changes and are reintegrated into Prospector. They should be back online in Prospector on November 7th, 2016.

The University of Denver Libraries is in the process of migrating to a new library system. As part of this process, their holdings are unavailable in Prospector. Once the migration is complete, DU will rejoin Prospector. We anticipate this will be later in the fall of 2016.

The CU Health Sciences Library (Anschutz Medical Campus) and the Colorado State University-Fort Collins and Pueblo libraries are also in the process of migrating to a new library system. As part of this process, their holdings are unavailable in Prospector. Once the migration is complete, they will rejoin Prospector.

If you need an item from any of these libraries and it is not available elsewhere in Prospector or MOBIUS, please request it through Interlibrary Loan.

Printing temporarily unavailable on 2nd floor

May 3, 2016

Printing services are unavailable on the 2nd floor of the library. Printing *is* available on the 1st, 3rd, and 4th floors. Color printing is available in Carroll Hall. We apologize for the inconvenience – please expect noise and dust as improvements are made to this space over the summer.

Prospector and Mobius

August 6, 2014

The Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries has embarked on a new project, connecting the Prospector catalog to the Mobius system in Columbia, Missouri. The Mobius consortium has 71 members, which include 61 academic libraries, 5 public libraries, 2 special libraries, the Missouri State Library, and 2 Associate Members.

If a user doesn’t find what he/she is looking for in Prospector, there will be a button in Prospector to search for the item in the Mobius catalog. If the item is found in Mobius, the user can place the request just as they would place a request in Prospector. They will authenticate with the appropriate information and select a pick up location for delivery.

The project just launched yesterday and testing of the request feature is still underway. We are not sure yet how long it will take for items from Mobius libraries to arrive. Please send any problems to Access Services at 303-458-4030 or circdesk@regis.edu.

Prospector unavailable on Monday, August 4th

July 30, 2014

The Prospector catalog will be down all day on Monday, August 4th, in final preparation for the launch of a new partnership with MOBIUS. You will be able to search in Prospector but not able to make requests during the downtime.

MOBIUS is a consortium based out of Columbia, MO. It has over 70 members, which include several academic and seminary libraries, some public libraries, and a few special libraries. Prospector users will have access to an additional 27 million items in the MOBIUS union catalog. If a user doesn’t find what they are looking for in Prospector, there will be a button in Prospector to search for the item in the MOBIUS catalog. If the item is found in MOBIUS, the user can place the request just as they would place a request in Prospector.

This service is expected to launch on Tuesday, August 5th.

Chat is available to students, faculty, and staff currently affiliated with Regis University. The service is 24×7, generally only closed on major holidays.

Click on the “Chat with a librarian 24×7” link on any library web page for assistance.

Academic research papers require academic sources. Sure, you might use Wikipedia to get general information on a topic, or even to look at its references, but it’s never a good idea to cite it. Instead, get started on your research with online subject encyclopedias in:

You’ll find fabulous background information about your topic and avoid the shame of Wikipedia on your reference list.
