Safari Books Online coming soon

June 14, 2019

Coming soon – we will be transitioning to the new Safari Books Online platform. There are several significant changes with this transition, including unlimited simultaneous users! Due to an unforeseen issue, we expect the upgrade to take place during the week of July 1st.

Users must register with aRegis email address. You will then need to validate your account using the link in the email you receive.

o Any user with a email will be able to authenticate and create an account.
o Users accessing the Safari materials will be presented with a patron validation screen and prompted to enter their Regis email address. Once they enter their email they will immediately be logged in.
o At this point, the user will also receive an email to complete the account setup. The account setup asks them to create a password to fully activate their account. If the user decides they do not want to complete the account setup that is fine. However, setting up the account and a password allows users to use the O’Reilly app for off-line viewing of content.

The new platform upgrade will include the following perks:

o NEW! Multi-modal formats delivered from a single platform
o NEW! A completely redesigned interface, built for intuitive use
o Easy-to-use mobile app, with offline learning for easy answers on the go
o Content from over 250 of the world’s best publishers with access to over 41,000 titles

Jessie de la Cruz recently joined the Regis library faculty as the Archivist. Prior to this Jessie was the founding Archivist and Digital Collections Manager at the Clyfford Still Museum. Her professional interests include community and artist archives, archival outreach, exhibition design, and exploring the intersection of archives and social justice. Jessie also serves as the founder and creative director for ArtHyve, a non-profit committed to the documentation and preservation of all forms of creative expression in the state of Colorado, with a focus on challenging mis- and under-representation in archives. For this work, and her contributions to the arts, de la Cruz was named one of 2017’s 100 Colorado Creatives by Westword Magazine.

Summer exhibits in DML

June 4, 2019

We have 2 exhibits on view from June 3 – August 20.

Selections from No Place Like Home, by Boulder artist Melanie Walker, will be on display in the Fireplace Lounge. Using the image of a house and that conceptual framework as metaphor, Melanie seeks to address our collective longing for connection and our similarities in these challenging times of division and separation.

In the exhibit cases are selections from a multi-venue exhibition, The Art of the Fold. Curated by Abecedarian Artists’ Books director Alicia Bailey, the exhibit features book works that celebrate the publication of Hedi Kyle and Ulla Warchol’s book of the same name, created by artists throughout the US.
