The December 2017 issue of College & Research Libraries News (C&RL News) features Libros y Libertad, art commissioned in 2008 for the Dayton Memorial Library. Created by Tony Ortega, associate professor, Fine and Performing Arts, Libros y Libertad is about place, with the Dayton Memorial Library at the center and two students reading, one male, one female, representing diversity and the student population. Another group of students is walking to class. The painting hangs behind the Research Help Desk.

Both covers are nicely timed in advance of the upcoming American Library Association midwinter meeting in Denver during February 2018.
