Website restored

Our website is restored. The outage was due to the bigger Amazon Web Services S3 outage today.

The library website is currently down. Our vendor is working with their hosting provider to determine what is causing the connectivity problems. We will update this post when the site is back up.

Digital Doodles exhibit

Doodling has long been regarded as a distraction and a waste of time; not only the doodler’s time, but also the time of anyone who may be attempting to teach the doodler. René L. DeAnda has discovered the hidden helpfulness doodling provides, as her pen acts as a recording device for not only what is being presented, but for recording the energies present in the vicinity as well. Digital Doodles is a compilation of original and digitized doodles; Ms. DeAnda is very excited to share them with you; the exhibit is on display for the month of February.

BizMiner service interruption

February 20, 2017

BizMiner experienced a service outage this weekend and is working to restore access for academic customers. They expect to have service restored by the end of today (2/20).

linking to ScienceDirect articles

There is an issue with linking from the article linker (when you click on Check for Full Text) to article links for journals in ScienceDirect. If you click on an article link, this message displays when you pass through to ScienceDirect:

Sorry, your request can not be processed due to a system problem. Contact the Help Desk if the problem persists. [SD-009]

Our provider will be putting a fix in place on Feb. 21st.

For the links that result in the SD-009 error, the simplest workaround is to use the Journal link instead and then navigate to the volume/issue. While not ideal, you can still get to the full text.

Shared Shelf maintenance 2/7/17

Shared Shelf will be performing scheduled maintenance on the multimedia server for Shared Shelf tomorrow, Wednesday, February 8, 2017 from 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. MT. During this time, video and audio files will not be playable within Shared Shelf and the thumbnails in Shared Shelf will not display.
