The Muslim Journeys project presents to the American public resources representing diverse perspectives on the people, places, histories, beliefs, practices, and cultures of Muslims in the United States and around the world. The program will feature the film “Koran by Heart: One Chance to Remember,” which follows three young scholars through their participation in the Islamic world’s oldest Qur’an memorization contest. A facilitated discussion will follow the film.

This program is first in a series for the Bridging Cultures Bookshelf: Muslim Journeys grant, sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities in cooperation with Ali Vural Ak Center for Global Islamic Studies at George Mason University and American Library Association Public Programs Office. The grant consists of 25 books, 4 films, and a year’s subscription to the Oxford Islamic Studies Online database. All resources are available at the Regis University Library.
