January 5, 2011

Janet Lee, Regis University librarian and returned Peace Corps volunteer, recently returned from a sabbatical in Mekelle, Tigray Region, Ethiopia where she established The Segenat Children and Youth Library. The 20,000 volume library has a networked computer lab with limited internet access, an online catalog, reference services, and a variety of clubs and other programming.

Photographs of The Segenat Children and Youth Library are on display in the Hartman Gallery and fireplace lounge of the Dayton Memorial Library through the end of January.

Janet also blogged about her experiences; the posts are available on the Segenat Children and Youth Library Facebook page.
